Angèle, 30, is in charge of planning the work of Naval Group’s SBNI department at the naval base in Toulon, which provides nuclear support for the French navy's nuclear-powered vessels. Angèle has two main missions: planning maintenance and operating work for the department's four workshops, and planning operations to prepare the machinery for loading and unloading nuclear fuel. “In terms of volume, this represents 4,000 work lines to be organised over the year. Each operation is treated with the same degree of importance.” Angèle is also responsible for leading the industrial performance improvement process and for monitoring the workload and resource plan. Quite a challenge!

Instantly drawn to the “nuclear family”

Originally from Dunkirk, Angèle moved the entire length of the country down to Toulon in 2012 to join Naval Group as a planner in the Mission and Combat Systems department, as part of a work-study programme in her final year at business school. She was then offered a fixed-term contract following her internship. In 2014, she pursued her career as a planner at Planitec, a project management firm. Two years later, her employer sent her on an assignment to Naval Group’s SBNI, giving Angèle her first experience of the nuclear sector. “It felt like joining a family! I immediately liked the vibe at the SBNI: operations are carried out with extreme rigour in a very good atmosphere. Real friendships develop very quickly. We enjoy getting together after work: I'm the one who plans the after-work meet-ups!” In 2019, Angèle signed her permanent contract with Naval Group.
