Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Given the escalation of cyber challenges in the naval defence industry, Naval Group – as an organisation of vital importance – has had its own CERT since 2017 in order to understand threats, anticipate them, track them and react efficiently in the event of an attack.

Naval Group’s CERT is defined by its cross-functional scope and its governance role within the group’s Cybersecurity Department.
A team of around twenty engineers with a high level of technical expertise works in Naval Group’s CERT, which deploys its organisation and missions around 3 areas:
- threat analysis: watch and cyber threat intelligence activities;
- response to security incidents: technical investigation and coordination of the response;
- threat anticipation: active search for compromise and simulation of offensive activities.
Its missions concern all the group’s information systems and products.

Naval Group’s CERT operates in accordance with RFC2350 (available in English), which specifies expectations on how to address incidents related to information security.
