Naval Group is one of the largest international Naval Contractors. For more than 400 years, we have been constantly pushing the limits to build the naval ships to deliver technological superiority to our Customers. It is with passion that our 17,000 employees, pool their unique know-how to design, manufacture and maintain exceptional products and systems such as submarines, aircraft carriers, combat frigates and mine counter measure ships.
In our recent and rapidly growing Belgian office (4 years old, 20 FTE) we focus at present on cyber and large software systems for Coastal Protection and Mine Counter Measures. In 2025, we will in addition be in charge of the delivery and the maintenance of the replacement mine Counter Measure Be-Ne Program
We are looking for a Design Engineer F/M/X for our Naval Group Belgium site in Brussels.
As part of the MCM-Lab (Mine Counter Measures Laboratory), you will work in a dynamic environment within the naval industry.
You will help to define MCM (Mine Counter Measures) systems that meet the functional requirements of client navies. You will also develop original and innovative solutions to tackle new technical challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Proposing innovative solutions to original problems,
- Identifying, evaluating and justifying technical solutions and their levels of performance,
- Modelling the proposed architecture,
- Contributing to the logical and physical aspects of the system architecture by incorporating new technologies,
- Assisting the system engineering leader with client programs/projects,
- Defining and drafting the description of internal and external interfaces,
- Providing support and expertise to integration activities,
- Validating solutions developed through testing campaigns,
- Performing in-field monitoring of technical services from Belgian external suppliers.
Assignments are not exhaustive and may change over time.

Profile
You are an engineering graduate with at least 3 years’ engineering experience.
You have experience in general engineering, but you also have in-depth knowledge of a specialist area (mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, telecommunications, electronic engineering, drones, navigation, etc.).
You have worked on complex systems and ideally have experience in the defence sector or a cutting-edge industry sector such as aeronautics, space or the automotive industry.
You have an excellent command of English and French.
Good knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
