NAVIRIS is looking for an Anti-Missile and Electronic Warfare Systems Manager M/F for its Engineering Department in Ollioules. The candidate will be in charge of the technical management of the PAAMS and EWS systems as part of the Mid-Life Upgrade of the Italian and French Horizon frigates, based on studies launched in 2022 with French and Italian partners.
The desired ASW Systems Architect must be an experienced engineer capable of managing particularly complex project design issues, with proven skills in the field of CS sub-systems (CS architectures, CSPI, integrated system performances). He/she is responsible for the specifications, statement of work and monitoring of the proper execution of studies carried out on the development, qualification, functional and physical integration and systems safety (especially PAAMS and EWS) by the relevant industrial partners.
In particular, the candidate will participate, according to his/her area of responsibility, in:
- the preparation of bids as part of the future contract for the Mid-Life Upgrade of the Horizon frigates commissioned for the French Navy and Italian Navy, while managing technical relations and technical negotiations with current or future clients.
- the preparation of balanced workshares between Naviris’s two parent companies, as well as between the French and Italian industries (drafting of the technical part of the procurement specifications for the services assigned, in particular, to the parent companies and providers of the PAAMS and EWS systems)
In close collaboration with other Naviris engineering specialists, the HRZ Mid-Life Upgrade ASW Systems Architect M/F will have to carry out system engineering tasks and oversee requirements management (including those that are not specified by the client, “Industrial Requirements” in the broad sense), as well as validate the work carried out by the industrial partners providing the AAW and EWS systems.
Part of the essential tasks for the AAW and EWS specialist include managing configuration control, as well as conducting and arbitrating technical reviews and major hold points with the various stakeholders at key milestones. Technical expertise (including the safety aspects linked to the systems integrated onto the whole warship and the concern for the quality of the data produced, in particular the contractual deliverables submitted to the OCCAR), study deadlines and constructive relationships with the industrial partners in charge of the development of the systems are essential elements and constitute key performance indicators for the position.
The holder of the position will be responsible for monitoring client developments and tests, on integration platforms and worksites.

Given the technical nature of the systems that he/she will manage and the particular context of a mid-life refit, the desired ASW Systems Architect M/F must have at least 10 years of engineering experience, and must be familiar with the challenges of architecture, design, integration and interfaces of technically and industrially complex combat systems. Experience in the field of ASW is a plus.
The candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in the field of complex sub-systems integrated into the Combat System of first-class warships (Architectures, functional and physical interfaces (CMS, CSPI) and performance of systems integrated on board).
The ASW Systems Architect M/F must:
- be familiar with the technical interfaces with the major suppliers of the systems for which he/she will be responsible (Discussion on specifications and their follow-up, allocations, monitoring of developments and tests) as well as the transversal safety issues caused by this equipment
- ideally have experience in the technical management of specific subcontracts and joint-contracts in a complex multinational context (SOW, Specs, Acceptance). Contractual management will mainly be handled by the product managers, with whom the ASW Systems Architect will be in close contact.
With proven technical management skills to technically monitor the development and integration by partners, he/she must contribute to the overall management of the CS refit for the HRZ frigates by Naviris, more specifically working alongside the Whole Warship & Combat System architects. It should be noted that the main systems for which the ASW Systems Architect will be responsible are common to both French and Italian ships.
Proven leadership skills are required to technically manage a functional and physical design team, including representatives of parent companies and partners, as well as to unite the design team around the WWA.
Professional proficiency in English (speaking, writing and reading). Proficiency in Italian is a plus.
A successful experience in the field of whole warship through-life support is a plus.
