NAVIRIS is a Joint-Venture between Fincantieri and Naval Group.

NAVIRIS is looking for a Whole Warship Architect (WWA) M/F for its Engineering Department. The candidate will be tasked with the technical management of the Mid-Life Upgrade of the Horizon frigates. The position requires in-depth knowledge of Combat System Architecture for first-class warships
The WWA M/F is responsible for the whole warship’s safety studies and military performance, and must include in the proposed solutions the challenges relating to naval architecture and the margins for the sizing of major systems
In particular, he/she will take part in:
-         the preparation of bids as part of the future contract for the Mid-Life Upgrade of the Horizon frigates commissioned for the French Navy and Italian Navy (technical relations and technical negotiations)
-         the preparation of balanced workshares between Naviris’s two parent companies, as well as between the French and Italian industries, and will help draft the technical part of the procurement specifications for the services assigned to the parent companies and suppliers
Once the contract has started, the WWA M/F will assume the role of Technical Deputy for the HRZ Mid-Life Upgrade Project/Program Director, and will represent the Industry in charge of the work in relation to the end customer(s)
In close collaboration with Naviris’s engineering specialists, the WWA M/F will have to carry out system engineering tasks, oversee requirements management and validate accomplished work (configuration control, performance and arbitration of technical reviews, quality, milestones)
This Franco-Italian team of field specialists will also be tasked with the specification, monitoring and acceptance of studies and works assigned to parent companies or direct suppliers
The HRZ Mid-Life Upgrade WWA M/F will assume the role of Whole Warship Design Authority for the development of ships during the Mid-Life Upgrade and will guarantee the compliance of the ships with relevant requirements. He/she will rely on the members of Naviris’s engineering team, Naval Group, Fincantieri and the other major contributors, by defining and applying the principles of subsidiarity and control that are required for an industrial organisation of this size

Profile

The desired candidate must be an experienced engineer capable of managing complex project design issues, with proven skills in the Combat System field (CS architectures, CSPI, performances).
·         Master’s degree in Engineering, with at least 10 years of experience as an Architect for complex naval projects.
·         Experience managing specific subcontracts and joint-contracts in a complex multinational context is required
·         Exemplary and professional attitude towards demanding customers and direct subcontractors
·         Proven leadership skills are required to technically manage a CS and Ship Design team, including representatives of parent companies and partners, as well as to unite the design team around the WWA.
·         Professional proficiency in English (speaking, writing and reading)
·         A successful experience in the field of whole warship through-life support is a plus
