The fifth edition of the NID gave its participants the opportunity to discover the innovations developed to meet the needs expressed by Naval Goup’s French customers. But also, to go further in the shared construction of roadmaps leading to improvement in terms of operational capabilities for ships and living conditions on board for crews.
Promoting Naval Group’s concrete achievements and innovation ecosystem
Taking a concrete approach, giving feedback on experiments, introducing prototypes and demonstrators developed with partners (industrials, academics, labs and start-ups): the tone is set to convince people why the innovations suggested are relevant and how they can mitigate risk so that they can be rapidly made available for integration into programs.
Three spaces and as many encounters to experience
Alongside the innovation stands, which were organised around twelve different themes and where the human-machine interface and artificial intelligence (AI) are omnipresent, “keynotes” sessions (interactive presentations) threw light on three topics: crews at the heart of innovation, the progress achieved on the Intelligent maintenance system, and European collaborative projects. Finally, a Lab space brought together academic partners.
The ‘Grand Témoin’ conference: another voice for a new generation of AI
Entrepreneur and innovator with a passion for technology and humankind, Bruno Maisonnier was the guest of NID 2021. Founder of Aldebaran Robotics, which has become the world leader in humanoid robotics, he has since founded AnotherBrain. He shared with the audience his experience and the prospects opened up by a "bio-inspired" AI, using no big data, capable of understanding its environment in real time. An enlightening vision for the development of solutions in naval defence.
