Naval Group signs strategic partnership agreement with Swedish shipyard Oresund Drydocks AB

10 February 2026 Defense Naval Group Press release

Naval Group and the leading Swedish shipyard, Oresund Drydocks, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a Partnership Cooperation Agreement, on February 2, 2026, during the stopover of the FDI frigate Amiral Ronarc'h in Sweden. Signed in the presence of Jonas Hansson, Chairman of Oresund Drydocks, Anders Larsson, Board member of Oresund Drydocks, and Guillaume Weisrock, Naval Group's VP for Sales and Business Development for Europe and North America, this partnership aims to develop a local frigate maintenance facility in Sweden.

Naval Group has the ambition to offer Sweden with the Defence and Intervention Frigate (FDI) surface combatant, a most advanced next-generation frigate. The delivery of frigates to Sweden, with the first possible as early as 2030, would be accompanied by its proven through-life support capabilities. Through a partnership with Oresund Drydocks, Naval Group teams up a trusted industrial partner for the maintenance and service support of the FDI in Sweden, aiming to optimize fleet availability and ensure long-term sustainability while facilitating knowledge and technology transfer.

This agreement is part of Naval Group’s broader ambition to strengthen the Swedish defence industry. With a strong industrial base and expertise in high-end naval solutions, Naval Group aims to deepen its presence in Sweden through industrial partnerships that create value for the defence and maritime sectors while supporting the Swedish Navy’s evolving needs.

“This agreement reflects our shared ambition to drive innovation through cooperation. Oresund Drydocks’ expertise make them a natural partner as we deepen our engagement in Sweden. Beyond creating high-value jobs, this partnership also strengthens Sweden’s strategic sovereignty throughout the FDI fleet’s operational life,” says Guillaume Weisrock, Naval Group's VP for Sales and Business Development for Europe and North America.

”We see Naval Group as a strategic partner. Our unique facilities in the heart of the Öresund region, combined with our extensive technical and human resources, allow us to deliver efficient, comprehensive solutions for ship repairs, maintenance, and modernization, creating real value for our customers.” – Anders Larsson, Oresund DryDocks AB.
