The competitiveness centres

Founded over ten years ago, the aim of the competitiveness centres is to support the development of innovation projects for high-potential markets when transitioning from R&D to industrialisation. Naval Group is a stakeholder in three such centres:

The development of the maritime and littoral economy in the Mediterranean is at the heart of the action of Pôle Mer Méditerranée. Created in 2005 at the initiative of Naval Group, which played the role of bringing together a wide network of partners (industry, SMEs, universities, research centres), it is now a hotbed of many fruitful collaborations. 401 members and 327 innovative projects to its name (figures for 2016).

The twin of Pôle Méditerranée but focused on the Brittany-Atlantic coast, Pôle Mer Bretagne, of which Naval Group is also one of the founding members, also promotes the development of the marine economy.

Both these centres have a global coverage and work together on maritime safety and security issues, naval engineering, the exploitation of marine energy and biological resources, environmental protection and littoral spatial planning. 350 members and 273 certified projects to its name (figures for 2016).

Pôle EMC2 of which Naval Group is a partner, is a single Research & Technology platform dedicated to the field of composites, from the design to the industrialisation of parts. 422 projects have been certified since its creation in 2005.
